Trawler Fest in San Diego

Trawler Fest Announces New Location!
San Diego, California
February 26–28, 2009

July 10, 2008
For Immediate Release

PassageMaker Magazine is proud to announce the addition of San Diego, California, as a new Trawler Fest event location! California’s second largest city was an easy choice for Trawler Fest’s new destination. San Diego’s idyllic climate, fabulous coastlines, nautical culture, and endless possibilities for activities, dining, and accommodations make it a natural choice. On February 26–28, the event will take place at the Kona Kai Resort and Marina, located at the tip of Shelter Island, San Diego, where exhibiting companies will set up on the brand-new resort grounds overlooking cruising powerboats of all sizes on display in this first-class megayacht marina.

Trawler Fest is a niche boat show that displays long-range cruising powerboats and land-based exhibits, hosts in-depth seminars, and offers social activities for the cruising-under-power community. PassageMaker has developed the event immensely since acquiring Trawler Fest more than three years ago. In those three years, attendees have asked for a Trawler Fest in Southern California and the easily accessible Kona Kai Resort provides the perfect venue for show boat slips, attendee accommodations, and seminar rooms.

PassageMaker hosts the regional event five times a year in other locations including Florida, Maryland, Washington, and New York. Each location serves as both a boating locale and a touring destination. PassageMaker believes that the attractiveness of San Diego will draw attendees who wish to add Trawler Fest onto vacation plans or to the start of a trip down to the Sea of Cortez. The endless activities and beauty of the city will make for a memorable and fun experience! Rob Dorfmeyer, PassageMaker’s publisher and general manager, commented on the company’s anticipation of the event, “We are delighted with the success of the Trawler Fest and PassageMaker University footprint and want to grow our existing locations and venues while expanding the location access to new regions of the United States. Southern California, specifically San Diego, is one of those places. It provides a strong loyal reader base to draw upon and many potential attendees interested in the growing trawler marketplace.”

Trawler Fest provides something for every type of cruiser—new or seasoned. Seminars cover mechanical, electrical, destination, safety, and lifestyle topics. During the evenings, attendees have the chance to socialize and network with fellow cruisers while taking part in fun activities such as a trivia night and a charity auction. The event offers several different admission packages. Please stay tuned for more information and a schedule of events. Go to trawlerfest.com or call 888.487.2953.
